Russian Language Courses in Riga
Our Russian language courses are designed both for foreigners who live and work in Latvia and for local residents who want to improve their Russian language skills.
Whether you are learning Russian for work, everyday communication or personal development, our courses provide a structured and practical way to develop your language skills and become more confident using Russian.
Russian Language Course Structure
Each Russian language course consists of 54 academic hours, or 27 lessons. Each lesson lasts 90 minutes.
Courses normally take place twice a week, either on Tuesdays and Thursdays or Mondays and Wednesdays, making them convenient for people who work or study.
What You Will Learn
For each course, appropriate learning materials are carefully selected according to the students’ level and learning needs. Lessons are supplemented with a variety of practical activities designed to encourage students to use Russian actively in class.
During the course, students develop all four essential language skills:
- Reading
- Listening
- Speaking
- Writing
Particular emphasis is placed on speaking and listening, helping students become more comfortable and confident communicating in Russian in everyday and professional situations.
Written assignments are generally completed as homework, with students receiving individual feedback from their teacher.
Russian Language Course Exam and Certificate
At the end of the course, students take a final Russian language examination based on the topics and language skills covered during the course.
Students who successfully pass the examination receive a LINGUA FRANCA certificate and can continue their studies at the next Russian language level.
Small-Group Russian Language Lessons
It is also possible to organize shared private lessons in small groups of up to four people*. This provides the benefits of personalized Russian language instruction while allowing participants to share the cost of private lessons.
More information about shared private lessons can be found here.
* All participants in a shared private lesson group must have a similar level of Russian language proficiency.
