Lingua Franca was founded in 2002 by Matthew Nathan Ettl (USA) to offer language instruction in English, French, Latvian, and Russian. In 2010 Lingua Franca registered with the State Education Quality Service, guaranteeing the highest educational standards.

Lingua Franca offers both one-to-one and group instruction, and lessons take place either on the Lingua Franca premises or on the clients’ premises. Lingua Franca also offers language instruction in cooperation with the State Employment Agency’s education and employment programs.

Lingua Franca has worked with some of Latvia’s most prestigious companies and organizations including the following: The State Chancellery, Swedbank, Diena,  Rietumu Bank, Swedwood Latvia Ltd., the Stockholm School of Economics, the Latvian Employers’ Confederation, Accenture, G4S Latvia, Tieto, JSC Grindeks, Latvian Air Traffic, AGA, The State Employment Agency, and DNB, among others.
